Choosing your first face painting kit
If you're painting for family and friends, a smaller kit with one palette and a basic brush set covers most simple designs. If you're taking on paid events or high-volume gigs, look for a kit with multiple split cakes and a fuller brush range — you'll move faster and cover a wider range of requests without needing to buy pieces separately later.
Getting the most from your kit
Every kit uses the same water activated system — activate colours with a lightly damp brush or sponge, and remove with soap and warm water. The split cakes and brushes included are the same ones covered in our full technique guides below.
